Does it need Shopify Search & Discovery?
No. The app builds its own index and does not use Shopify's filter engine. It works on your catalogue as-is.
Does it edit my theme?
No. It runs as an app embed you switch on in the theme editor and binds to your existing search button. Turn it off and your theme is exactly as it was.
What happens when I hit my plan's search quota?
Search keeps working — it falls back to keyword relevance for the rest of the month. There is no overage charge.
What data does it store about shoppers?
None. No customer ID, IP, session or cart token. Analytics are aggregate counts of search terms only.
