File Upload Pro is a Shopify app built and operated by BurTech Solution (“we”). It lets a store’s customers attach files to an order. This policy explains where those files go and what the app keeps. The general Privacy Policy covers this website.
Where customer files are stored
Files uploaded through the widget are transferred to the merchant’s own Shopify Files library and stored under a randomised file name that reveals nothing about the customer or the order. The merchant controls those files inside Shopify; BurTech does not keep a copy after the transfer completes.
What is removed from files
Images (JPEG, PNG and similar) have their EXIF metadata — including GPS location, device model and capture time — stripped before storage. Documents are stored as uploaded. Uploads are checked against the merchant’s rules (file types, size limits and file count) before acceptance.
What the app keeps
To attach files to the right order and show them in the merchant’s admin, the app keeps a record per upload: the store, the order or cart it belongs to, the stored file’s name and location in Shopify Files, the upload time and the outcome of the metadata check. It also keeps the merchant’s configuration — upload rules, widget styling and copy — and the plan and usage counts needed for billing.
The app does not build profiles of customers and does not use uploaded files for any purpose other than delivering them to the merchant’s order.
Customer data requests and deletion
Shopify’s mandatory customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact webhooks are implemented. When Shopify signals a customer redaction, the app deletes its upload records for that customer; the files themselves live in the merchant’s Shopify Files and are governed by the merchant’s own retention. When the app is uninstalled, the store’s configuration and upload records are deleted within 48 hours.
Post-purchase upload links
Customers who skip the upload at checkout can receive a per-order link to add their file later. The link contains an unguessable token, expires, and accepts only the files the merchant’s rules allow.
Billing
Plan charges and trials are processed by Shopify under its terms. We do not see or store card details.
